Country & Western is definately one of my favourite subjects to cover. Whether it’s the ranch, the horses or the great people that manage them. I’m always looking forward to photograph this.
Black and White documentary style portrait of an Ontario cowgirl removing the riding saddle from the horse. Making photographs is a bit different from taking pictures, a photograph tells a story.

Cow skull decor immediately sets the country & western atmosphere, no matter where you find them. Immediately the mind goes to latenight fires, bbq ribs and 48oz. cowboy cut steaks.
Capturing the country and western setting in the horse barn. The only things missing from this scene is probably the rifles and revolver belts with rounds of ammo?

Ranchers have a real way with horses, where the horse knows what’s coming with its eyes closed. Traditions, habits, and chewing tobacco are three basic engines for a “stable” ranch.

If you’re in need of professional equestrian, ranch or country and western photography, make sure to plan a bit ahead and book early, especially in the Spring, Summer and Fall.
