Book Pete for photography at your next cow horse event. – Boxing is typically for beginners who have never been a finalist in working cow horse at any CQHA championship show or they have earned less than 10 points in working cow horse. The class requires a reining pattern and single cow work (boxing) on the end of an arena. Each mounted cow horse rider, upon receiving a cow in the arena, must hold that cow on the prescribed end of the arena for fifty seconds, demonstrating the ability of the cow horse and rider to control the cow. Time shall begin when the gate closes behind the cow after being let into the arena. The announcer or judge will then announce the completion of the fifty seconds via speakers, a whistle or a horn.
